Volunteer Services Co-ordinator to join our team in the North-West of England you will be responsible for the following:
Leading on the promotion of volunteering and recruitment of volunteers across a designated geographical area.
Using initiative and experience, the Co-ordinator will identify areas where volunteers can make a positive difference, sharing good practice and success stories both internally and externally
To lead on diversity and inclusion developing and implementing practices to ensure volunteering with Mencap is inclusive and accessible.
In addition, the Co-ordinator is responsible for the day to day operation of the Mencap Visiting Service (MVS) across a designated geographical area. They will have a great understanding of beneficiaries’ requirements, supporting MVS visitors to make a difference their lives in a safe and appropriate way.
Key responsibilities:
Liaising with teams throughout the region to understand how they work, develop partnerships and assess their volunteering needs
Generating appropriate volunteering opportunities and role profiles
Raising awareness of the benefits of engaging volunteers
Ensuring there is appropriate support and training for volunteers
Promoting volunteering using our on-line job site, social media and recruitment and publicity strategies
Offering good practice advice and designing tools to enable staff to provide a quality experience to their volunteers and encourage retention
Recruiting, interviewing, inducting and supporting MVS volunteers and supporting other staff to do so within their teams
Develop and support a robust and flexible matching system for MVS volunteers, to ensure successful partnerships between volunteers and people we support
Deliver induction and training activities in line with MVS service requirements to volunteers
