Trilateral Research are looking to hire a Data Scientist to join our Socio-Tech for Good team.
As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modelling to extract insights and drive data-driven solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the development and deployment of data-driven strategies and products.

*Please note that this role requires vetting to Non-Police Personnel Level 3, meaning only candidates with a minimum of three years residency in the UK will be eligible.
What are your responsibilities?
Data Analysis and Exploration:
Perform data collection, curation, analysis, presentation, visualization activities.
Cleanse, preprocess, and wrangle large datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and integrity.
Lead technical reports, technical documentation, deliverables, and content for proposals.
Work in an interdisciplinary sociotech manner, ensuring an understanding and engagement with data ethics, data privacy, data security and algorithmic transparency considerations.
Model development and Implementation:
Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for predictive analysis, classification, clustering, and recommendation systems.
Optimize models for performance, scalability, and efficiency while ensuring robustness and reliability in production environments.
Apply statistical techniques to derive correlations, causations, and patterns within data sets.
Conduct hypothesis testing and statistical inference to validate findings and make data-driven recommendations.
Coding & documentation:
Write good quality, maintainable code.
Provide clear and useful technical documentation.
Collaboration and Innovation:
Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in data science and machine learning and support in team knowledge exchange efforts.
Identify opportunities to enhance existing models, methodologies, and processes.
Contribute to discovery efforts following the guidance of senior team members.
Skills and experience you will bring to the role:
Good organisational, verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to learn, knowledge share and expand skillset.
General Knowledge and Technical Skills:
Demonstrable experience of completing data science projects.
Demonstrable experience in working on collaborative software projects.
Good understanding of statistics - hypothesis testing, p-values, confidence intervals, regression, classification, and optimization.
Knowledge of machine learning evaluation methodologies
Background knowledge of, and experience with, a variety of machine learning approaches, such as linear/logistic regression, SVM, random forests, and deep learning (ANN, RNN, CNN, LSTM, etc.)
Good experience manipulating large data sets (structured and unstructured data) through statistical software or other methods
Good technical skills (Python – essential). Note: we use Python, SQL, ElasticSearch, Neo4J, pandas, scikit-learn, Keras, PyTorch among others.
Ability and willingness to discover, use, and learn new technologies.
Demonstrable experience and interest in the realization of ethical AI.
Required Education and Experience:
2+ years’ experience in data science.
Masters/PhD in a technical subject such as Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or related subject.

Contract type: Permanent Employment Contract
Start date: End of Feb/Beginning of March 2024
Salary: Commensurate with experience
